Faraj Fund Foundation is a pioneering model of humanitarian work within the United Arab Emirates, striving to alleviate the suffering of inmates in correctional and penal facilities and their families, and to provide them with a renewed opportunity for a dignified life.
In alignment with the country’s digital transformation journey, Faraj Fund is launching the “Smart Donation Boxes” project. This initiative aims to replace traditional donation boxes with advanced interactive devices that enable donors to contribute toward relieving the hardship of prisoners and insolvent individuals in an easy, secure, and transparent manner, while enhancing real-time financial oversight of all donations.
The supplier shall supply, install, and operate an integrated system that includes:
I. Hardware Supply
Quantity (10) Large-category devices: 21-inch touchscreen with floor stand.
Quantity (20) Small-category devices: 10-inch touchscreen suitable for tables or limited-space locations.
II. Software System
Development and operation of a smart administrative platform to manage devices and monitor donations.
III. Logistics Services
Installation, network connectivity, training, and maintenance.
System Architecture: The solution must rely on a unified backend system to manage all devices via an encrypted API.
Cloud Hosting: Hosting the system on a local cloud within the UAE to ensure data sovereignty, with auto-scaling capabilities to handle seasonal demand.
Databases: Use of MSSQL database to ensure the security and integrity of financial data.
Encryption and Security: Implementation of advanced encryption for financial transactions and compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
Device Management (MDM): Provision of a remote device management system to control permissions and perform regular security updates.
Security Certificates: Issuance of a unique digital certificate for each device to prevent breaches or unauthorized access to the central system.
Branding: Design of device interfaces to exclusively and modernly reflect the Faraj Fund brand identity.
Interactive Interface: Display of the foundation’s projects (e.g., debt settlement, family support) through interactive videos and images.
Payment Methods: Support for Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and bank cards.
Donation Receipt (QR Code): Upon successful transaction, the device must generate a QR code that allows the donor to scan and instantly receive an electronic receipt (PDF) on their mobile phone.
Large Category (21.5-inch):
Display: Full HD (1920×1080) capacitive multi-touch screen.
Processor & Performance: Octa-core processor to ensure smooth processing of videos and dynamic welcome messages.
Design: Durable metal floor stand with adjustable tilt for ease of use.
Small Category (10.1-inch):
Display: High-resolution touchscreen suitable for table or desk mounting.
Connectivity: Full support for Wi-Fi and 4G/GSM networks to ensure continuous connectivity with the central system.
Shared Features:
Camera: Built-in camera to monitor user interactions and enhance security.
Audio: Integrated speakers with remote volume control or mute capability.
Operating System: Full compatibility with customized Android applications.
Hosting & Data: Secure storage of donor and transaction data in an MSSQL database with comprehensive encryption.
API Integration: Provision of an encrypted API to integrate the donation boxes with the backend system, as illustrated in the technical integration diagram.
Additional Integrations: Capability to integrate with the foundation’s internal systems.
The dashboard must, at a minimum, provide the following reports:
Real-time Financial Reports: Total donations by day/month/project.
Location Analysis: Identification of the most and least productive devices geographically.
Happiness Index: Integration of the Dubai-approved customer satisfaction measurement interface after each donation.
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following weightings:
Technical compliance and cybersecurity strength: 30%
Previous experience in similar projects: 30%
Timeline and implementation plan: 15%
Financial capacity and commercial price: 25%
Performance Bond: 5% of the contract value.
