Under the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a culture of giving has always been deeply rooted in our society. This continues to be nurtured in innovative ways by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE & Ruler of Dubai; and H.H Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. It is the reason the United Arab Emirates is known as one of the world’s most generous countries, resulting in our coronation as the ‘Humanitarian Capital of the World’ in 2013.

It is this noble sentiment that imbues the work of the Faraj Fund and those that help us alleviate the suffering of others. One of the most crucial elements of the Islamic faith is the sense of community and interdependence. We are taught not only to have compassion for the needs of Muslims, but, wherever possible, to seek out ways in which we can relieve the hardships of others. The Faraj Fund offers a unique way in which individuals and companies can fulfil their moral obligation to build a better society for us all, for today, for tomorrow and the years to come.
