15 million AED Debts due on 934 prisoners have been settled this year

The Ministry of Interior launched as of today a humanitarian campaign to release 11 national prisoner nationwide, in addition to providing support and aids for 125 national and Gulf families who are going through some harsh life circumstances due to the absence of their breadwinners. However, this campaign comes concurrent with the gulf guest week campaign which is known as “My Family is in your hands” that was launched today and will last for a week. This campaign was launched in the light of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Interior represented by “Faraj Fund” and “Emarat al Youm” which contributed in releasing tens of Punitive and correctional institutions inmates who were detained due to financial insolvency and Diyyah “Blood Money”. As a result, Faraj Fund revealed that it settled the debts of 934 insolvent prisoners nationwide since the onset of the current year until 21st of October 2012 with a total value of 15 million and 185 thousand AED.
